INTENSE!

February 15th 2014

What a training session! It was pointed out to us this weekend that none of us our fit enough to last a full international game of an hour at present. Speaking for myself..I would have to agree!

I have been working on my fitness and leg strength and with Winchester Ladies Netball for the past three weeks, but more work is needed.

Worked on swinging the ball around the circle this weekend, looking for that open shooter and switching from attack to defence.

Next weekend we move to the capital, where amongst other things we will have our squad photos taken!

Every journey begins with a single step...

February 1st 2014 - 1st squad training session has taken place and received my first piece of England kit; a training top that was put to good use and withstood the punishment we were put through!

Met a great group of fellow players and am now getting REALLY excited about the months to come.

Many thanks to those who have already donated to help me raise enough funds to compete in South Africa! It is really appreciated

Could you design our England playing kit!?

SHUSH our kit suppliers are looking for wonderful designs to turn into our official playing kit for the World Champs. Could you do better?!

Making use of half term!

17th February 2014

While the children are away on half term and raining outside, it seemed like a good idea to go and play...I mean train with the equipment in school!

Now I can see why the children have such fun.

SAQ and some plyometrics today.

Encouraging comments!

Squad photos done!

28th February 2014

Our first London session went well, but the coaches sounded a little like those  judges on Strictly telling us to go " Quick Quick Slow!" as we look to move the ball up quickly and then control and build the play from half way.

We were told in no uncertain terms that our shooting stats need to improve so nag me to go and practice if you see me!

Mixed team meet up

16th March 2014

It was our first session as a Mixed Squad since the teams were announced. We finally knew who we would be working with to bring home the title of World Champs.

Under the watchful eyes of the coaches and one of our injured players we started to get use to how our team mates played and soon had the other teams chasing shadows as we stepped up our performances.

Not the finishes article yet, but moving in the right direction!

Tri Nations Final 2013

We're all in this together!

29th March 2014

A punishing session!

We played a match in our mixed teams for an hour and learnt a lot about ourselves and the way our team mates play.

It was very heartening to see how well our shooters are shooting in the matches too!

Our defence looks solid and the link play fast and decisive.

During the match we received feedback on numerous stats to give a focus for each quarter.

After lunch we then had to score 50 goals each and for every miss we had to run the full length of the court...and back!!

Guess what I will be working on this week!

Thanks Girls!

18th April 2014

While I've been training, my girls have been busy making inspirational works of art for me!

Daddy's Cup!!

Thanks girls!

The one thing I think they must have got wrong though is the twice daily ice bath.

And one before breakfast!?

Sureley a mistake!? (finger crossed!)

This Weekend we have a double dose of training as we take on previous INA teams before meeting our physio and going through our tactics and strategies one last time before the flight out to SA.

One other exciting piece of info is that we receive our kit this weekend! Can't wait to see what it is like.

42% raised of the £1000 I need to compete in the World Championships.

Please help by sponsoring me.
